The active downtown area of Santa Cruz has also faced development through the years. Pacific Avenue remains the main street of the downtown with plenty of storefronts, entertainment, housing and businesses. There is a consistent and unique collaboration of art and culture that can also be found here.
Geographically, Santa Cruz is bound between a longer coastline between the Santa Cruz mountains and at the northern region of the Monterey Bay.
