After interviewing Chris, it was clear that he had vast experience in the real estate industry.He thoroughly explained the process of selling our house. He helped us get financial assistance to help us prepare the house for sale. We had a delay initially and Chris patiently waited until we were ready to begin. He was in control from beginning to end using his vast contacts to get the house ready for sale. At the moment we were ready to put the house up for sale, the market became unpredictable and a little scary. I'm so happy to see 5 stars for all of Chris's reviews, but not surprised at all. He's knowledgeable, responsive, informative, thorough, and patient. Chris knows the real estate business inside and out, and most importantly, listens to his clients to understand THEIR needs and then matches his search to what they are looking for. Chris was our buying agent and there is not a single thing he could have done better. The Bay Area real estate market is not always the easiest to navigate, and he actually makes it feel simple at times. We cannot recommend him enough and would use him again in a heartbeat.

We first meet Chris 2 years ago when we were first considering home ownership. Chris was very frank and honest. He explained the San Jose market very clearly and presented just the facts. "You don't have all cash, this is what it takes to buy here." The facts were hard to swallow and it took us nearly 2 years to accept the market place. Chris never pushed us but always keep us up-to-date on market trends via emails. Once we decided to move forward Chris helped us line up financing, helped with where to look and explained the entire home buying process to us. He is extremely knowledgeable about the whole process. From buying to selling, to flipped to renovating. I can honestly say if we decide to move (before Chris retires) we already know who we'll use for listing and buying our next house in the area.

Chris Knox has been helping us in our quest to buy a home for about 6 years and, finally, just this past month we closed on a great home thanks to him: he found the home and pushed us to see it (it didn't show too well online) and, most importantly, he went in to "sell us" to the buyer's agent the day offers were accepted (he took almost an hour apparently). We've bid on around 10 homes with him and were at the point of giving up, but he kept us in the game all along--he's a very positive, consoling, and optimistic person which helps A LOT in this market. No doubt we wouldn't be moving this coming month if he hadn't had done his due diligence with us.On another front, Chris is an EXPERT at home remodeling, fixing, etc. He already has helped save us thousands of dollars on termite treatment for the home, painting, etc. and has given us excellent advice on items we could do ourselves (including how to do them). As we've learned all too well, when a home closes Chris doesn't disappear like some agents and go on to the next buyer; he sticks around and drops by regularly to give sound advice on what to fix, how to fix it, when to fix it, and who to get to fix it (he has a very long chain of people who do sound work at a fair price). He's great at handling loan agents and banks (we had some hiccups with our loan agent along the way and Chris maintained his professionalism and consistency making sure we made it all the way to close). On the personal side, Chris is extremely patient, kind, and considerate with deeply analytical clients who ask too many questions and are nervous Nellies (that's us) and has taken us (me) off a ledge more than a few times.Speaking from experience, having him represent you on the buying end or listing end (we are also having him list our home this coming month) is like having a personal assistant and friend all rolled into one--in fact, he's even invited us out with his spouse to an elegant dinner this evening as a gesture of thanks and congratulations on the new home. What agents do you know who do that? All I can say is that we worked with 2 other agents preceding him and neither came even close to the exemplary customer service we've received from Chris.To sum up, Chris knows the market extremely well (decades worth of experience), is well connected, knows how to make the pitch on the buying or selling end that reaps results, and he sticks around long after your home is bought or sold to give sound, pragmatic, and priceless counsel and advice. Going with Chris Knox is going with the absolute best, most honest, and genuine agent imaginable; I can't recommend him enough.

I had interviewed agents weeks prior to listing our house in Cambrian Park area of SJ, and chose Chris Knox to represent us due not only to his years of experience, but we felt comfortable with him and his personality fit for us; even over agents that had been referred to us by family and/or friends. Chris gave us great advice about when to list and guidance on listing price. Given this, we moved up our open house date by a full month, but even with a tight timeline (just two weeks) he managed to get great interior and exterior photos to print (for mailing flyers and brochures prepared for the showing) and they looked amazing. He even took the time to walk the neighborhood and personally meet some of our neighbors so he got a better feel for the neighborhood in order to better inform potential buyers about the area and school district. He hired great home and termite inspectors who were very thorough and friendly to work with. Both inspectors actually took the time to go over their findings with us when they were done, as opposed to just inspecting the house and writing their report. This allowed us to know exactly what might be a potential red flag for buyers.Chris held our open house on Sat & Sunday and by that Wednesday we had 7 offers on the table…he took the time to explain each offer as opposed to just taking the highest and running with that. After hearing his explanations of each of the offers, we ultimately went with an offer that was $17k less than the highest offer, but was still $60k over asking. Because Chris took the time to know what we ultimately wanted out of the sale (price and moving timeline) from our initial conversations, he knew exactly which offer would best meet our needs. This is where his years of experience came into play, as he is a great negotiator and works well with other agents.In addition to Chris’ expertise, he has great office support with Loretta, who was also very efficient and timely in getting us reports and documents. She made this process so much easier than we had anticipated by keeping us abreast of next steps related to the overall process.
